This is your corner of the internet if you’re a woman who:

  • Has wanderlust but maybe a little wonder-what-could-go-wrong too.
  • Wants to travel solo (or already does) but still has questions like:
    “Is it safe?”
“How do I meet people without it being weird?”
“Can I look cute without checking a bag the size of a Great Dane?”
  • Loves culture, food, dancing, and finding the real heart of a place — not just the selfie spots.
  • Is over 40 (or fabulous at any age) and believes adventure doesn’t have an expiration date.
  • Wants travel tips that are tested in the real world, not copied from some listicle that clearly wasn’t written by someone who’s ever had to find a safe taxi at midnight.
  • Believes in experiences over stuff — but still appreciates a comfy hotel bed, a great glass of wine, and maybe a rooftop view.

If you’ve ever dreamed about traveling more but felt nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start — I’m your girl. I’ve been in your shoes (and sandals, and hiking boots), and I’ve learned how to turn the “what ifs” into “heck yes, let’s do this.”

So pull up a chair, pour yourself something delicious, and let’s start planning your next adventure.A blog for the fearless, fabulous females in their 40s, 50s and beyond.  Is that you?  Or is it who you want to be?

Think of me as your travel-loving neighbor who pops over with coffee, a suitcase, and a dozen “You won’t believe what happened…” stories.

I started Susanne Suite Style because I know solo female travel can feel exciting and terrifying. You’re juggling questions like:

  • “Is it safe?”
  • “What if I get lost?”
  • “What should I pack?”

Here’s the thing — I’ve been there. And I’ve figured out how to turn those worries into heck yes moments.

On this blog, you’ll get:

  • Safety tips that actually work (tested in real life, not just Googled).
  • Step-by-step destination guides so you know exactly where to go, where to stay, what to do, and where to eat.
  • Packing and money-saving hacks so you can travel more, stress less, and still look fabulous.
  • Confidence boosts for those “Am I really doing this?” moments.

As they say, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” I’m here to help you turn the page — safely, confidently, and with your lipstick still intact.

I’ve traveled to 25+ countries solo, navigated cities where I didn’t speak the language, and learned what actually keeps you safe without killing the fun. Every tip here comes from experience — the kind that leaves you with stories, not regrets.

Fun facts? I’ve climbed two mountains, danced on rooftops and with Maasai Warriors, I’ve eaten grasshoppers (chapulines), and I was once held up in an African rain forest (long story).

So grab your passport and your sense of humor — because we’re about to collect moments, not things. And trust me, the stories are even better when we tell them together.

Who am I? I’m a Kentucky-born farm girl who never thought I’d travel the world but always yearned for more. I love pink, cowboy boots, high heels, and lipstick.

Fitness is a bit of an obsession of mine and helps me stay sane. Wine, chocolate, and coffee are food groups in my world, and some of the reasons I work out. I’m an extrovert, a little kooky, but definitely fun!

Travel isn’t about collecting passport stamps. It’s about collecting moments, friends, flavors, and stories that change how you see the world — and yourself.

As one of my favorite sayings goes: “Life is short and the world is wide.” So let’s make it count.
