How to Transition White Jeans Into Fall

Can you really wear white in the fall?

White is one of those colors that CAN be worn year-round and whether you believe in the tradition of limiting white between the holidays of Memorial and Labor Days or not, I’m here to show you how a simple pair of white jeans or pants can transition easily into fall and even winter.

White is a neutral, so can go with virtually any and everything. White denim serves as the perfect neutral allowing you to showcase a blouse, shoes or even accessories.

So, let’s break down the simple ways for you to wear your favorite white jeans all year long!

Layering is the first tip.

I love this teddy bear coat. I went all white under the coat which is an elongating tip especially for us vertially challenged gals. The white Steve Madden booties finish off the look, but you could easily trade them for leopard pumps or a tall boot.

Speaking of animal print, I traded out the coat for a leopard print sweater that pulls in all of the warm colors reminiscent of fall. The tall boots are in my favorite cognac color which tend to got with so many outfits in my wardrobe. Trade out the boots for black ones and top it off with a leather jacket and it is a winning look every, single, time. Another option is to throw on one of the long coats trending now adding another layer for warmth.

Add Jewel Tones for a Pop of Color

Jewel tones say richness and are more serious than the pastels associated with spring and summer. The blue in this sweater really makes a great contrast to white. While red is a great addition especially for the holidays. Of course, black is a classic and I’m loving all of the distressed hems.

All three sweaters would make great options to wear with a black pencil skirt or black leather leggings. Need to take it up a notch? Simply throw on your favorite blazer to take the look into the office.

Add Some Jeans to Your Jeans

Jeans are normally a heavier material, so to take those white jeans into the cooler months, add more jeans. I added a chambray blouse and pearls. Jeans, chambray, whatever you want to call them are staples in my closet. In fact, I own more than 15 jean shirts and jackets. It just may be an obsession.

Add a utility jacket in army green with some thick sole boots or tennis shoes and you can hit the soccer field or the farmer’s market this fall.

Trade out the utility jacket for your favorite suit jacket, roll up the sleeves and add some booties and your outfit is perfect to meet your main squeeze for happy hour.

If more casual is your goal then you can easily trade out the jean blouse for a striped top and add a jean jacket on top. Again, it is all about the layering. Tennis shoes make this an easy look to achieve while some black pumps would add a bit of polish.

More Sweaters in Neutral

Nothing looks better than a crisp pair of white jeans with an oversized sweater finished off with some ankle boots. It’s a perfect fall combination, not just for white jeans, but any jeans.

Personally, I tend to go with more neutrals because it matches my skin tone better.  The two tones here play nicely against each other. The look is complete with some brown/tan boots and a leather bag.

Another option to keep things monochromatic and stylish is to go with another neutral, grey. Keeping the sweater loose and oversized is trendy. Add your favorite booties to finish off the look and accessories and you’ll turn heads wherever you go.

As this summer gives way to the cooler months of fall, don’t put away your white jeans or pants. Keep in mind that the material needs to work for the season. A pair of white linen pants aren’t exactly going to work for nontropical weather or with a heavy sweater. Jut experiment with what you already own or use this post as inspiration to go shopping. Whatever you do, have fun!
